At The 2009 NexT film Festival in Bucharest The “CRISTIAN NEMESCU“ BEST DIRECTING AWARD was given to Runar Runarsson for 2 Birds / Smafuglar (Iceland, 2008)
The Festival is run by The NexT Cultural Society was created in November 2006 in memoriam film director Cristian Nemescu and sound-designer Andrei Toncu, in order to keep their memory alive, to promote their works by all means and through all channels, and, at the same time, to support, educate, encourage and stimulate young filmmakers.
