Smafuglar (2 Birds) was awarded The Best Short Film at The The Northern Wave International Film Festival that was celebrated from the Friday 27th of February to Sunday 1. of March, 2009 in Grundarfjörður, Iceland. The philosophy of the festival, upon which its name is based, is Nouvelle Vague, or New Wave. Official Selection In Dresden

Smafuglar (2Birds) is in The Official Selection of The 21st Filmfest Dresden. 70 films are due to compete from 14. to 19. April for these much coveted short film trophies. In the seven international competitions 43 films are in contention for the Golden Horsemen, while 27 shorts are fighting it out in the national competitions. Entries from a total of 20 countries are in the running for the festival's prizes. Most of the short films come from Great Britain (9) and France (8), followed by Spain (3). With 2,134 submissions from 75 countries, the Filmfest has been able to achieve yet another record number of entries.
